les amis du fromage

So, I purchased a bento box a few days ago. It's certainly not adorable or even cute. It's practical, clear, and small. About 480ml. It can totally fit enough food for me in there, that's for sure. Unfortunately, right now it is housing two of the three new cheeses the husband and I purchased yesterday (but I can live with that, the cheeses are delicious!).

Since Sunday is really the only day Mike has off from work, we do a lot of chores and running around that day and yesterday was no exception. We were downtown, in North Van, and doing stuff around our neighborhood as well. We picked up some wedding gifts that had been waiting for us at The Bay for at least 4 months (sweeeet new knife set, salt &pepper shakers, and a fabulous set of cheese knives--we love cheese). Then we headed to Fabricland to get some thread, a store called les amis du fromage, the grocery store, and headed home. Last night we also made banana bread and muffins using this recipe. Yum! It came out really tasty, too. Mike took 4 thick slices to work this morning for him and the guys. I hope they enjoy it!

I also started my quilt top on Saturday. It's a jelly roll quilt and I'm also using a pattern from this book: Jelly Roll Quilts. I ran out of thread, but I can continue to work on it today. Next up is measuring and cutting, glee. I would absolutely LOVE to use a Moda jelly roll, but I can't bring myself to pay on the plus side of $30 for 1 roll.

This looks interesting. I think I may try it out, although I only have one colour of yarn at the moment. We'll see!

Still want to go thrifting. Unrelated: Maybe instead of financing a laptop after the car is paid off, we could get a nice dslr or a fabulous stand mixer.. ooohh.

xoxo
