Spring

Easter time always have me thinking about Pisanki. If you don't know what that is, you can check it out here: Pisanki. I'm Polish, so we did it the Polish way, but depending on where you're from in Europe/your ancestry, the name and how it's done may be a little different. And of course, there are different kinds of egg decorating, but I know Pisanki.

But anyhoot. Every year, mom and I would break out the kits and both of my grandmothers would come over and we'd spend the day inking eggs with wax in different designs and dye them, remove the ink, redye, and so forth. It's a fairly long process and it's not easy, especially if you want it to be perfect. You learn to steady your hand in order to get straight lines. This is the type of kit that we used. Sometimes we had plastic handled kistka, but I prefer a wooden one. So yeah. I had a lot of fun doing this, maybe I should start up again and teach the hubby. He may enjoy it and they come out so beautiful at the end of the day. :)

Today I'm starting a strict regiment of riding my bicycle (weather permitting, as I do not have wet gear) and doing an ankle slap routine. It makes me wish I had my yoga mat here... I really need to move my crap out here soon. It's frustrating that I don't have my belongings when I want/need them. I wonder how this will turn out! I feel so fat just being lazy all day, I need to get in gear.

Motivating myself can be hard.

I'm excited to being able to start gardening outside soon. I haven't really done much outside of pots, so it will be a learning experience. I want to plant herbs in the garden and so far I've picked up lemon thyme and mint from the garden store. I'm waiting for basil, sage, rosemary... I'd love to do lavender as well, but we'll see. I hope it's a busy busy summer so that I can forget about how I have no job and no money to contribute to this household. :\
